About Vicki Pitman

My work is grounded in traditional healing wisdom and sound science.

Clients benefit from my integrated therapy approach to meet the unique needs of each person.

I have twenty years clinical experience in holistic, complementary medicine, and lecture for professional colleges and courses.

A love of Nature and disappointments with orthodox medicine first drew me to Western Herbal Medicine, Iridology and Reflexology. Continuing my professional development, I trained in Remedial Massage and Aromatherapy, then Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Ear Acupuncture for addictions.

In the early 1990’s I began training in Ayurvedic medicine (Certificate of the Vedic Insitute, USA and International Academy of Ayurveda, Pune). I incorporate its principles and practices into my work, particularly in assessing the consitutional type or Prakriti of each person, and choosing the suitable energetic remedy to restore or maintain this inherent balance.

I also have a keen interest in the wellsprings of Western herbal medicine and this led me to complete an M.Phil. in Complementary Health Studies at Exeter University. My dissertation has been published and is available from Amazon Books:

The Nature of the Whole, Holism in ancient Greek and Indian Medicine Motilal Barnasidass, New Delhi, 2006 (ISBN 8120827341)

About Integrated Therapies
I take a thorough case history of each client at the initial consultation, following holistic principles of integrating mind, body and spirit.

I asses the person’s constitutional type, strengths and weaknesses.
Using this I can recommend the herbs, essential oils or bodywork or combination of therapies that by supporting each other, will benefit the person’s condition.

Dietary and lifestyle suggestions are usually given to support the programme of treatment.

Clients can benefit from a range of treatments without having to consult several separate practitioners.
